The Paramount (Wetherspoons) on Oxford Road always gets pretty full of rugby fans, a good sing-song usually ensues!
Always like the idea of a few pints outside Sinclair's/The Wellington, near the Triangle too.

One good option is, after last year's final, they charge you to get in then it takes ages get served, the police never had a problem with everyone having their own drinks outside the ground.

Village Hotel on Trafford Park industrial estate.
Bars on 2 floors, serves food as well.
10 minutes walk to the ground (approaching the Stretford End) and relatively easy to get away from after the game if coaches pitch up near there.

the traffords good, never been to the railway though. usually hang near the pubs close to the arndale, which is set back and then head up to salford quays.
