| Quote F4RSH="F4RSH"These players don't need coaching, I think they need an inspirational British ex player ie Hanley, Edwards, Schofield to inspire them and bond them as a team. The complaint from alot of players like Long is that the coaching was too technical, like doing tackling practice! If players selected at international level don't know how to tackle its time to pack in. The best coaches of GB in the last 20 years have been Hanley and Mal Reilly, both motivators of men.'"
You made a good point till that part! Now if you had said they need someone to talk about how great he was and how rubbish everyone else was, and that Maurice ruined his life etc etc, then you would have had the right person!
He may make the entire squad want to jump off a bridge together, other than that i dont think he could get them to bond as his favortie subject is himself and how hard done to he was by ......... (insert organisation)

| I hate to say it but we should copy the Aussies.
A panel should pick the squad and the coach should be part time.

| Quote LovesToSpooge="LovesToSpooge"Christ, were scraping the barrel a little aren't we.
Still if I've got to pick one I'll got for Betts, he's got the Wigan connection and although he didn't do to well with us, we were going through a rather tough period certainly for a rookie first team coach such as him self to handle.'"
I thought that given the circumstances, Denis Betts did very well indeed. We got some very good wins under him, despite having lost some of our best players. Out of the old guard, I think we only had Farrell left at that point.
It was under Millward that it all went to cock.

| George Riley from 5live suggests it's done deal for mcnamara
He's known as a motivator but I fail to see this backed up with results.

| If it's Mcnamara, then great news for Bradford, they might actually have a chance of winning something this year. However it's dire news for England.
If we want a full time coach and he's the best we can come up with.
Why not drop the idea of a full time coach, and go with a few English selector such as Sculthorpe and Radlinksi, and bring in someone such as Craig Bellamy to coach the team on a part time basis.

| I've been thinking about this and this is a real spanner in the works, but why have the RFL not looked at someone like Shaun Wane?
Fantastic motivator, demands respect and will get the best out of any team he coaches.

When have the RFL ever done something clever?
Mad to think that people on a internet forum can think of better ideas than the people incharge.
