The clubs need to petition the RFL to top this stupid idea before it gets off the ground. It maybe an idea for us all to e-mail our clubs to tell them of our thoughts.
Surely the RFL must have e-mail addresses, post codes and / or telephone numbers of people who have bought tickets for big events before. Why have they not consulted the fans?

Why not just bring back the Charity Shield at a decent size football ground outside the heartland?
Make the package affordable to all fans to tempt a few neutrals and give out free tickets via local conference teams
Cardiff one year Newcastle the next and so on
it has been suggsted putting the whole of the starting round on at somewhere like Eastlands. But there's no way a Premiership team is going to allow half a dozen rugby matches to be played on their pitch in the middle of February

As the season stands now this is how the Magic Weekend should be
Wigan v Wire
Saints v Hull FC
Leeds v Huddersfield
Hull KR v Crusaders
Castleford v Wakefield
Bradford v Salford
Catalans v Quins
who can complain with that ?
1st game should be the bottom 2 clubs and work your way up
If it was to stay like that you could actually know who you are playing and on what day(Sat or Sun) and time before they even released the fixture.

Yeh I think playing the fixtures based on the previous seasons final league positions is the best/fairest way to do it. However I wouldnt play them in order from bottom up as this would make the first day extremely poor.
