Not a fan of backing topweights, particularly in soft ground handicaps but I've been waiting for this horse to run since November. Saw him at Warwick and the trainer and jockey where called into the stewards room over the running and riding of the horse (only horse I know of to stay on after suffering an over-reach - dubious explanation to say the least). Been given some fairly timid rides of late most recently at Haydock over Chrismtas and has the benefit of AP McCoy today and the trainer likes a punt.

Have taken some of the 5/4 about Northampton winning in 80 minutes. The handicap is -1 in some places which would near enough make it an each of two situation (ie. 5/6 both sides). The price is far too big given the home form shown by Northampton this season (unbeaten in the Guiness Premiership) and an easy win against Bristol last time out. In contrast Leicester are coming off a very tight game against Bath last week and haven't won away from home in the league since 20th September (2 defeats and one draw in that time).

American World - Never put into the race, held up in rear off top weight and on soft ground and by the time the jockey even started to ride him (no use of whip I must add) he was at least 9 lengths off the pace. Shocking.

2 games called off and a draw. no idea what happened at oakwell but a disappointing day all round

Had an 8 team accumulator of which 3 games were called off; only won £28.46 off £7 though as the games that went ahead were odds on (Celtic, Aberdeen, Leicester and two others that I've forgotten!)

Much closer than the scoreline suggests - Myler missed 5 kicks and a drop-goal in the first half alone.
