I'm with you Mick, I can't recall him playing badly recently.



I'm not really buying that statement from the club to be honest.



There's got to be more to it than just preparing poorly for games.

This is getting very worrying. Daley has probably been our best player this year after Danny Jones. After George Raynor and Carl Hughes seemingly in the bad-books we seem to be losing quite a few of our quality players. Is this a pre-curser to statements from the club saying "We are concentrating on youth", the way they did in 2006 and 2007, which really means "We are cutting our wage bill, and hope to stay out of the bottom 2 of Championship 1". This at the time they are asking for extra crowds dosn't seem to make much sense.

At the last fans forum it was mentioned that the club had budgeted in way that.



1) Paying fans (not including season tickets) would pay players wages and they expected 1000 would pay at the gate for every home game.

2) We would win one third of our games this season.



Part 1 we were nowhere near (about 500 IIRC) which is why they were desperately trying to attract more fans down.



Part 2 We've won 7/21 games in all competitions so far this season and realisticlly are looking at 8 or 9/27 wins for the season so around a third.



The maths doesn't look particularly good. What was mentioned was the revenues streams from elsewhere, bar sales, catering, etc was covering this shortfall.



It would therefore make sense to have a clearout at the end of the season but not now. To surrender before end of the season would only serve to alienate even more fans and be counter-productive.



Which leads me to believe regarding Daley it isn't anything to do with money, it's something else.

It has bugger all to do with finances.

You lot have no decent players,MAYBE ,Wray wouldwin a knees-up Mother Brown contest,thats,all.

I suppose people will read all sorts into this but if it is serious and disciplinary then the club have no option. You can't bend rules for someone just because of who they are.



It's a real shame, Daley is one of our better players and looks comfortable at this level both in attack and defence.

For 4 I had spoken to Daley was our 2nd best player this season.

The one who could turn a game the way JP did many times last season.



I assume he has done something major for the club to want rid of a fans favourite.



But with Tom Sheldrake injuried we are short on Centres



Tom Burton, has potential but tackling is no Daley.

Joe Copperthwaite will be a cracking centre, a star in the reserves but tackling still needs to be brought up to match his going forward.



Unless Baz goes shopping, I think we could struggle to find a win without a new centre of class.

The season is as good as over for us now.

This will reduce the wage bill for next season.



Such a shame really, as he is one of the best players we have/had.
