| Stealth and Designated Driver have both suggested a place on the board for a fan(s).
Do you mean a fan(s) is allowed to "listen in" or do you mean an actual place on the board ie a director?
I can't imagine any board allowing either of those situations to be honest.
If you mean that the board communicate with a designated fan(s) with the purpose of closer interaction with the club then that might work.

| Quote Dominance="Dominance"Stealth - I get where your coming from and at no time has anyone said this forum is not worthwhile. My only point is that people ask questions that nobody on here can answer. The only place to get an answer in the main is from the club. I'm sure we all care and not everyone will agree with you or I and I have no issue with that. However, that being said, this thread started by rumor spreading and to quote "To be honest the alarm bells are ringing. I'm seeing concerning things like this offer, and hearing other concerning things, that out of respect for people I hold in very high regard I won't put on here" What is the purpose of that. If you know something and can share it do so, but what is the point of intimating you know something but can't/won't share. Was there a need to even mention it? This just causes unnecessary unrest. Like many have said, we all care so those you who are not privy to the information you are will be concerned by your note. That's surely not what this forum is for. End of rant!'"
Sometimes knowing things can leave you in a bit of a quandary. I did carefully consider whether or not to post the bit you've highlighted. Do I say what I know, and cause folk concern through awareness? Or do I keep schtum and regret it if something goes wrong and folk lose out? There's no particularly right or wrong answer is there?
Certainly on my part there's no agenda against the club or anyone at the club, just concern.

In an ideal world a director. Let's be honest fans put a huge amount of money in to the club and it would give them a voice as regards how it's spent.
I'm with you as regards I don't think the board would ever let it happen though, it's understandable that they'd seek to protect their stake in the company.
There a plenty of clubs around the world that are run in their entirety by elected members And it never did FC Barcelona or Real Madrid any harm.

| Are the season ticket offers going to be publicised? through the weeks to come because this is the first ive heard of it, it seems as iam a loyal fan and use this forum to find out NEWS! about the club, maybe this NEWS should be made public for fans who dont use this forum and have the chance for early bird season ticket, I think this should of been mentioned at the last home game (sheffield) and then in the keighley news weekly to give folk time to react, it just seems a bit hasty, i hope this is read as positive feedback.

| Instead of everybody bickering about what this offer may or may not be, just let the people who want to buy a ticket for next season buy one and those who have there own opinions why they are for sale dont buy one.
End of subject.

| If any one wants to make a comment on this topic please do.
I still think its done at the wrong time.
This is a good deal. Much better than the one offered for this years season tickets.
This deal could have been done towards xmas. Use it as a selling point for next year.
Make it a deal where the first 300/400 get it at the price.
From now till then. Tell people about the fantastic season ticket offer. The club will be doing for next year. Keep hinting about how good it will be and then hit them with it. Make sure you tell people, when the launch date will be. Get people looking for the news about on the day the deal starts.
Big launch, blanket coverage on Facebook, Twitter and the clubs and this website.

The current board would not allow this, not out of malice or greed but because of the implications of making a "fan" a director would have.
1) The fan would have a vote at board meetings
2) The fan would have significant legal obligations
3) The fan would have a significant duty of care.
The average man/woman in the street would not be expected to either know or understand this. If the club did go bust the fan could be left with a significant financial obligation.
I spend more in the supermarket than I do at Cougars yet I don't expect to be made a member of the board at Morrisons.
With regard to saying you "know something significant" about a potential club problem, but not saying what it is, I don't believe is productive and only feeds the rumour mill.

| Surely the easiest way for the Club to alay the fans' concerns would be for the money paid, in respect of the Season Tickets, to be placed into a separate account which is ring-fenced from the Cougars until November/December when they could access it? Possibly in an account controlled by a mix of supporters (pity that the Supporters Club is non-existent nowadays) and a single Director, with withdrawals only being permitted with the permission all of the signatories? This would ensure that the funds could not be accessed by the Club if there were any financial problems. Should this occur, then the payments could be returned to the individual fans who had paid for their Season Tickets .................................. or have I missed something?
OK, there have been problems in the past, but why does everyone jump to conclusions when they have no eveidence (or do they)?
Can't we have some positive thought for once?

| If you go to Morrisons and they put a cracking offer on, do you think
"I am not buying that, they may be going under?"
No,
This is a good offer.
End of.

That's a really poor analogy.
At Morrisons you take the product off the shelf there and then, pay for it and it's yours to use as you like.
Here's a better one.
If you see that Game are offering a console game that you want coming out soon to pre-order at a good price. Do you pre-order it in the knowledge that their finances aren't great and you may lose your money?
The offer is undoubtedly a good one, I just have to wonder why so good and why before the mid-point of the season we're currently in. Sure it might be just be a matter of the club wanting the money accruing interest in their bank account and not ours, but I don't believe it is.

| I thought it would be best to e-mail the club and this was the reply I got back.... I'm sure they will be ok with me posting this if it puts people's fears to rest and sells more season tickets.
Thank you for your email.
The rationale behind the season ticket offer is to give the loyal fans a chance to buy them at 2012 prices prior to me increasing the price on 1st June. The pay monthly scheme will basically enable the season ticket purchaser to pay for the season ticket by standing order over 6 months, or more if they desire. For example, an adult season ticket at £160 could be paid for at a rate of £20 per month over 8 months with the season ticket holder receiving their ticket at the end of January 2013 in time for the season.
In terms of budget the adage with rugby league clubs (indeed any business) is to get money in as early possible and sit on it in the bank.
