Like Stealth has stated you have an opinion and I will not argue against that, but I would put the following points across in Gary's defence. Like a few have posted on here, I have reservations about what Gary says sometimes such as SL etc, but I feel he wants to club to go forward. Whether he actually possesses the means or the know how to do so only time will tell. If what I understand is correct, the club are now operating in the black which given the financial past is worthy of credit. I'm sure the new Company wasn't formed with a zero balance so there were debts to pay off. If this has been done then he deserves some credit.



Gary was brought in initially as a Director and can't believe he was solely to blame for the demise of the Cougars 2001 Company. There are many figures quoted and banded around but even if we took the average it would be in excess of £100K owed which doesn't build up overnight. He took on the Cougars when it appeared nobody else would and if they money men will always be around where were they then?



Gary always seems visible down there mucking in doing the jobs that you wouldn't expect a Chairman to do. That, if nothing else shows he cares and wants to make a go of it. Yes, there is a distinct lack of staff there on a day to day basis, but there has to be a balance and like I have said on many posts, maybe the major proportion of the budget has gone towards the playing staff.



I also hope he makes a go of it and club is able to build year on year.

Just as long as he isn't drawing a salary from the Club then I can't see any problem.



If he is, then questions need to be asked.



As a loyal supporter for over 50 years then I can't remember any Director being paid for his/their role; so why change now - if that is the case.

The question being 'why is gary fawcett allowed to be chairman?' is ridiculous. As far as im aware he hasn't been classified as 'unfit' by the RFL or the law.



Most of his companies have dissolved, this is far different to liquidation. This just means closed down (probably beacuse they weren't making a profit). We all know link telecom went under, that was during the recession and isn't suprising, it wasn't the only Keighley business to suffer.



he is obviously an entrepreneur, albeit i think he is full of flash talk and outlandish claims like all salesmen are. If it wasn't for him cougars probably would be a amateur side now, im not his number 1 fan, in fact he doesn't have many fans at all......a bit like cougars. Putting outdated posts on like this (things that were considered in 2010!!) just further alienates fans and potentially puts off new fans.



All of championship rugby league is struggling, unless you have a spare £1m then he's the best weve got.

I think you will agree, you have made a number of pretty serious allegations and insinuations so I think fans need to know the angle you are coming from: Are you a genuine concerned supporter; or someone with an axe to grind?



Insinuations are like graphs - you can make them read any story you want and essentially you have just dragged up old info that has been seen and discussed on here before, apart from the insinuation that a director has left the club because of the chairman.



I'm not having a go at you, just trying to put your post in perspective. Most people that post on here want the club to be successful but there are some quite differing views on what success actually is.

Anybody would think our anonymous stirring machine was somebody who had recently left the club.



If they were a concerned supporter or a supporter of any type they wouldn't be slagging the Chair in this way on here.



Like him or not, Gary puts in a huge number of his own hours doing things for the Club that fans rarely see and seldom appreciate.



I suggest you go to the cobblers on Cavendish Street to grind your axe instead of talking cobblers on here.

This club has got the best team it has had in quite a number of years. I want to remain positive for this season. I can forgive any errors by the chairman as long as the club remains active with a squad as good as we have now.

Just highlighting the obvious, that somebody has an axe to grind and people
