A wins is a win. It wasn't pretty and we nearly beat ourselves but it was a win.

First 30 minutes, almost perfect. Had the wind and slope against us but we controlled field position and kicked beautifully.



Then we missed a tackle and conceded a try, it happens especially when you have a half back up against a giant centre like Damian Reid.



First 20 minutes of the second half was scrappy. A lot of mistakes and giving dumb penalties away. Then the little bit of biff spurred us into life and we finished them off.

A nice comfortable start to the NRC. Nice to see the wingers get amongst the tries. A bit of a niggly second half but was a bit disappointed in rochdale, was expecting a bit more from them tbh.



As was said before a win is a win, Dewsbury next week will see how far we've come.



Interesting to see Oldham beat Hunslet, damn shame! Not!!

Too many loose carries and silly errors from when we were trying to offload the ball whilst we had 3 rochdale players around us which cost us alot of possession. Like people have said a win is a win but we didnt play as well has what we should be doing. Need to play alot better than today if we are wanting to progress in this tournament. Also i think Hutch is playing very well he has scored in all the games he has played in this campaign lets hope this continues.

Were you watching the same game as what I was ?? We were in control from the first to the eightieth min of the game.



Our boys are learning new things under J D ,and more importantly thriveing off his presence on the field [i( this is no go at our Baz

,we did exactly the same five years ago when he arrived at CP)[/i and that is beginning to show on the field in a big way.



Similarly we have a completely new half back partnership who have got to take time to settle .. Paul Drake is looking like an inspired signing and is starting to gel with Ryan Smith, who is starting to show real untapped potential , but give en time...



Hutch n Lawton , are beginning to look an A1 centre partnership, along with Gav Duffys continued commitment and enthusiasm on the other flank , but the one guy who really impressed me today was Craig Moss, he was strong under some really horrible high balls in the wind and his support play was 100 %....

Missed the 1st half, having been with the U-18's earlier. But from what I saw in the 2nd half, afew errors (which they made aswell), I saw plenty of good things.

I thought we kind of lost the plot for the beginning of the 2nd half, but still did enough in defence to stop them capitalising on their good luck. Never really looked in danger of losing the game. I thought Drake played well, too.

I thought it was a good game, never knew Demitriou could kick !!

Thoroughly enjoyed the game and as has been said, we are learning a new style of play. We tried a lot more kicking options that looked really effective.



I'm not sure why Hornets resorted to rough stuff because they can play good rugby. It just fired our lads up even more.



I agree with Rach that Mossy had a great game. I also think Buster played well, he took them on more than usual. A big well done to ALL the lads.
