Been a Labour voter all my life too, I want them to win the GE and get the Tory's out of Government but I'm almost settled with the thought of voting UKIP this time.

My thoughts exactly. When I think of our clubs history, ambassadors such as Neil Fox and the pride that could return to our city if the clubs fortunes were to turn around I am totally incensed by how the leader of Wakefield council is behaving.

I understand how you feel but I honestly think you're better off voting Labour in the GE and then putting pressure on the Labour MP when s/he gets in. Voting other than Labour in the council elections would be effective but only if you could mobilise a large number of people to do likewise.

Don't get your logic at all on that one. TBH Box and his corruption needed removing long before the NM fiasco blew up.

I would change the rules for both national and local government such that no individual can be in control for more than 2 terms. For local government that would be 8 years, plenty time for anyones pet subject. That's not to say the leader shouldn't come from the main party, but just not the same individual. I do think WMDC would be different under anyone else tbh. Peter's time has seen plenty of good things happen in the City, but he is now so entrenched in what he sees as right and wrong that he cannot even bare to face us over the table to tell us what we already know!

The only way WMDC is likely to take any notice is to vote against the Box party in the local elections
