| Just read this on Rugby League fans forums aparently its in todays RLE
Quote Martyn seems to suggest that Crusaders' debt to the RFL of £700k will secure their place in SL for as long as it takes to repay the debt regardless of criteria and that Nigel Wood's previous involvement at Halifax and his recent alleged fiery argument with Wakefield's Diane Rogerson at a SL meeting are cited as reasons why Mr Wood's judgement might be affected regarding the future of those two clubs. Today's article is the second in the space of a month from Martyn casting doubt over the licensing process which surprises me as I seem to remember he thought it was very much the right path to take when first introduced.

I wouldnt trust that Nigel Wood as far as I could throw him (which isnt far the fat .....person..) doesnt sound good for us though does it? seen as he seems to be the only one at the RFL that does anything.. |

Crusaders went bust and have reformed with the help of a £700K loan from the RFL just shows how bent Superleague is. They will choose who they want in and who they want out. The thing that really gets to me is that they continue with all the charade of franchise applications when it is all cut and dry.
Yes and I agree Wood is an overpaid big fat lump

yes i read it this morning too. basically he goes on to say that anyone having a vested interest( ie the £700 k that the rfl have invested in crusaders), cannot really claim to be impartial can they.
so who would this panel consist of?

If you remember he went on Bootsnall last March and stated that a Championship team would be elevated to Super League even before they had changed the criteria and had all the problems with Crusaders- seems to me he had made the decision nearly 12 months ago.

The decision to elevate a Championship club was for the benifit of the Championship clubs , not for the benifit of SL
I would assume if Wakefield do get de-elevated you will be hoping they promise to elevate a Championship club in 2015 also ? |
