vic venturi for me although i bet regually ive never backed the winner of the national.

I can see why, don't want to knock your selection really as I haven't done so for any body, and im more than certain my selections can be knocked too, but since you've admitted you bet regulary, Don't you think Vic Venturi is a little high in the weights and although he has won over these fences, I personally believe he only performs in small fields and the only time he has been within a large field (Irish Grand National) he lost to niche market by 35lengths.



I wish you the best of luck, but I can't see it doing owt although thats just my opinion.

Snowy Morning has a very good chance Snowie, has completed twice in the race in previous years and is a few lbs lower this year two.



My four against the field are...



Black Apalachi (16/1) Has good form over these fences (despite an unseat last year) was absolutely tanking along last year when unseating, should be fresh and will go well again I reckon.



Tricky Trickster (20/1) Dissapointing in the Gold Cup but ever since being bought for big money out of Nigel Twiston-Davies's yard after winning the marathon at Cheltenham last year, this was always gonna be the main target, sound jumper and no stamina issues so should be thereabouts.



State Of Play (16/1) Ran a blinder when 4th last year, 5lb lower here and had a nice break and goes better fresh, should again go close.



Joe Lively (100/1) Usually like to back one at huge odds that may give a good run for your money. Could be the type to bowl along in front and give a real good account, ran in good company plenty of times and a very sound jumper (never fallen or unseated in 25 races).
