Oakwell is a cracking stadium (bar the west stand which is seriously outdated) and would be a good "rental" home, and as said before it may get interest from local residents who thenn get bit by the bug and keep watching when we move to a new home.
truth is it is a short term solution to a huge problem and i for one think it is a good one

would the crowds be enough to offset the rent/stadium costs. though? as wasn't that the problem before,after all I'm sure Mr Glover Doesn't want to be funding shortfalls from his own pockets does he,he wants the business to be sustainable.

Good question, i'd give Glover time. He did mention that there was an agreement in place which just needed a little bit of work. He hasn't got to where he is in life by making reckless decisions. I'm sure that being sustainable in the long term is at the forefront of his thought and if that can be acheived at Oakwell then all the better |

I would be amazed if Wakefield were to play at Oakwell if they get demoted to the Championship, surely the cheapest and best option would be Post office Road as it will be upgraded by then and is only what 3/4 miles away

I live in Barnsley there is support already in the town, some of the supporters i see home and away so obviously quite keen. I am sure we will pick up new fans if it goes ahead it is just a pity we are moving to the Leeds side and not Durkar which would be easier to get to from Barnsley.

I believe playing at Oakwell wont just attract people from Barnsley itself but people from the south of the district, Hemsworth, South Elmsall/Kirkby, Ryhill etc. About same distance to Oakwell from there as to Belle Vue and a fair few people in that area follow Barnsley.
