Lillycrop gone

Grayston gone.
and i can garuntee all of these 3 players will play super league in the future. i must say im very dissapointed in the club this time round. but from what i gather you could earn more working part time in Aldi than what these lads were offered.. and yet weve got thousands to throw at players that other clubs dont want.

No one can guarantee those players will play Superleague in future.
We are not the only club releasing players as the new system kicks in.
Look on their forums.

You can't guarantee nothing, no one can and if you haven't noticed this is happening to every club in the League. As the saying goes don't blame the player, blame the game, the game in this instance is SL and it's call to change the current age group and reserve system.
What's all these unwanted players we're chucking thousands at? seems to me we're trying to maintain what we had last year and make the loan players permanent. We've also managed to sign one of the best young stand-offs in the country up in Golding Jr.

Anakin as well, like you say you just can't keep everyone not under the new system, even the likes of Leeds have sold their young player of the year.

| Forget about SL clubs, look what excellent talent is going to be able cut its teeth in first team rugby in the championship!!
The salary cap seriously restricts how many youngsters each SL club can keep hold of, if you want them on better than Aldi money, then half a dozen on £30k per year seriously dents the cap if they're not ready and are just gaining experience of being in the pro environment.

I have read time and time again about Lillycrop and having gone to watch this lad a number of times I very much doubt Lillycrop will make it in SL. Whilst I agree he is a very enthusiastic lad who put's himself in a position to take the ball up often, when he does, he takes a deep run up hits the ball at speed only to be stopped full on at the advantage line, I have never witnessed him break the line yet, and his defence is very suspect also. I think he may do ok in the championship sides but a big loss for WTW I personally don't think so.
Gledhill offers really good potential and will be interested how he progresses and I am still not sure on Grayston yet, although his goal kicking is outstanding.
I am looking forward to seeing the progress of Anakin and Slater, both of whom have great atributes but have not had their chance yet. Anakin's explosive running linking into the line could be a great game breaker at a late stage in the game, this reminding me of when Mick Jackson played his 1st season at Wakey. Slater for his overall work rate, defensively he ties up the runner and controls the tackle well and he is more than happy to do the hard yards when required.
Add these to Walshaw, who I believe still has a lot of developing to do but has shown promise, Trout who has shown up well in each game he has played and Cowling who has also showed a lot of promise in his debut and who I have admired when watching him in the reserves, I think WTW are developing and retaining some very good prospects and we don't need to worry too much.
Up the WTW

| Ive seen Lillycrop and I thought he had huge potential carried it in like a train. This is a bad decision by the club would have gave him a few games this season.

the lad tried hard but had the shape of a bowling ball, poor defence and no reset speed when he made the tackle, were talking him going up several levels here lets be realistic.

SL have made a very bad decision to scrap the U21 and I accept that under the circumstances it is impossible to keep all our young players only time will tell if we have kept the right ones I am pleased we have signed young Fletcher Cowling looks a good prospect and Trout will kick on next season onward and upward

The problem here is that you are utterly wrong yet you will probably turn out to be absolutely correct.
The idea for me is utterly sound and the only ay to go, the under 21 comp has not been the success we hoped for and NL1 RL offers far more chance for the growth of a player IMHO.
Hoever the short sighted nature of ALL SL clubs suggest what should happen won't. Whilst ever SL clubs remain mesmerised by all things down under or persist with past it domestic players I fear the worst. I fear they will forget these players, not monitor them and then offer the few they do nothing like the money they offer past it Aussie journeymen to re-enter the pro game. The talent will be in NL1 as players develop at their own pace but I doubt many coaches and lets be honest a lot of want it now fans will ever bother to spot it.
Thus we will waste talent and we will be no better off. Even the NL1 teams won't benefit that much, not whilst ever SL is denied to them as a right. The whole game is lop sided at the moment and require a totally new mind set or we will sink fast.
