Leeds City Council are the only rule 6 statutory objector to the Newmarket scheme.

Is it their right to offer an "alternative" view or to offer a "balanced" view? Surely by offering a anti NM (alternative) view they are being biased, and that they are not allowed to be.

Surely it is up to the objectors to offer the alternative view and if that is bot possible, then they should state that they offered the objectors the right to express their views, but they declined/didn't exist/couldn't be d/had been eaten by unicorns etc etc.

Grounds for complaint if you ask me (you didn't but hey!!!).

Yes, it just the 'rule' that grants them rights to be treated as a statutory objector as opposed just to a public objector, like you or me or any group. As well as councils, then organisations like Yorkshire Water, Natural England, The Environment Agency etc, etc are also statutory objectors.... but of course, none of them are objecting!

As TRB pointed out, he was playing the role of the objector due to a lack of a representative on their behalf. They had quite a positive piece on before the interview.

I informed Radio Leeds that W.A.R don't really exist and is just a website put up be a resident... not sure if they are slightly embarrassed by that news though! I did offer to point them in the right directions of real objectors in future though!

Just listened to it on iPlayer - I thought the interviewer was doing what all interviewers do, just not very well.
