Is Cas's Eden related to our ex plodder Phil Eden? Didn't we off load Phil to Cas when he was past his "best", using the term best in it's loosest sense. What a waste of a good physique that bloke was!

he played (at a guess) well over a hundred games for trinity and he was not some mercenary passing through such as some of the players we have now. he was a big lad, but no plodder. he’d plenty of pace. i remember him destroying cas at wheldon road (i still have the vhs somewhere) as well as getting a hatrick at the willows in a poor side which contrived to lose. his undoubted talent was not nurtured.



he may have gone to cas, but i seem to think we loaned him to donny, but to be fair it’s a while ago.

Phil was a good Centre in a mediocre team and at least he always did his best and was a good club man,more than can be said of some of the dross we have on the books just now. Had some good times in club after matches with Eden, Mason, Fletcher,Scrum half of that team(Can't remember his name he worked at Kellingley pit,afraid it's the old grey matter).Remembered now ,it was Pickerill

I think Greg Eden who played last night was at Wakey until a couple of years ago.

Always remember Phil Eden as an outstanding junior who never fullfilled his potential. Big lad capable of running in straight lines. Still remembered for his collision with Rambo Ronnie Gibbs that left Ronnie spinning to the tune of a Rose Royce track (wishing on a star?) as the credits rolled following a televised clash.

Only Trinity player I've ever bagged was Paul Brown. Shouldn't have been drinking & smoking on the Church steps.

Phil Eden was a very good player for Wakefield, for a long period.

If you think he was a plodder you obviously didn't watch many games back then.

Its his son and he was a good player for wakefield, although he was devastating on a good day when he put his mind to it, he was a average player most of the time but then again that was same as most of the team then..
