Agreed. Some people who have paid up front have had enough so if you pay on the gate you are seriously going to be thinking is it worth it? Well for the most part this season it hasn't been.

| Back to the original thread, at the game and on here Tim Smith gets plenty of stick about about his lack if involvement. Well he had a hand in four of the five tries Trinity scored on Sunday. He didn't help himself with his brain fart when he had intercept the ball but if the coach did as many have demanded and left Smith out of the side it would only have a detrimental affect upon the team.

I also think he has tried to step up in defence as well. He's clearly no Washbrook but he is putting a lot more effort in than he used to.
I also liked the way, after his mistake, he was trying to tackle everybody in the next plays to make up for the mistake. That attitude is needed across the board.

| For me Tim Smith would be the 1st name on the team sheet. He can't be faulted for effort and energy and enthusiastic celebration when moves come off. He is genuinely hurt when he cocks up and must be mentally as well as physically drained at the end of each game. We just need some more enthusiasm around him.

I agree
The mistake at the weekend looked terrible but he'd done a great thing by making the interception, drew the players towards him and should have been able to look round and pick from at 3 runners charging up.......just like Leeds did in similar situation.
Of course he shouldn't have passed the ball but he saw Kirmond coming but he was behind him and if the pass had gone to hand he would have been motoring down field.
and like I said, he worked his off to try and correct the issue.

| The thing with Tim Smith is the majority of players around him aren't good enough to keep up. When he makes a mistake it looks like a howler, the truth is in a top team those 'risky' passes would be caught by players backing up and in position who are reading the game like Smith does.

| Got a lot of sympathy for Tim Smith, he can't do much unless others around him are giving him plenty of options. However, he is suffering from the same sloppy unprofessional malaise that all of them appear to have. He had his back to play at the second half kick off, Leeds spotted him and kicked directly to him and when he turned round he wasn't in a position to catch the ball.
This kind of sloppyness shouldn't be difficult to eliminate but it is quite ingrained in the team at the moment.

| Start with a new captain. Someone who speaks and leads by example, perhaps we haven't signed him yet?

I do believe that we desperately need a proper leader - someone in the mould of Matt Fuller would do!!

| Quote Scarlet Pimpernell="Scarlet Pimpernell"I have a season ticket but did not go because I am fed up of how the team play and the club is currently being run. The general consensus is Collis as gone but not a word from the club. They won't play Sammut but once again no reasons are given.
I have read that if we survive this season then things will be better next year but unfortunately they said that last year.
We as supporters have seen season ticket prices increase, whilst the senior age limit is reduced and students are removed. We cannot take drinks into the ground, some areas are cordoned off to supporters and the kick off time was changed to 1500hrs. I like most would probably accept these changes if the product on the field was worth the extra money and inconvenience. It is not so now you could say that the very survival of Wakefield Trinity is on the shoulders of Brian Smith. The tools he is provided with to do this is in the hands of our board who have found it easier to reduce the squad but now they will have to fund suitable replacements.'"

I agree, but there is a risk of bringing someone new in and asking everyone to follow him without question. It takes time to build that relationship.
I guess it will depend on the person

How naive are some fans?. Pointing and tapping people does not make someone have great effort. I would rather see him showing effort by bending his back making some tackles, taking the line on more etc. Brough did the pointing etc but he actually did the work Smith doesnt! Naive at its best (fooled) by artificial actions.
