Never any doubt that I will watch Wakefield at whatever level they end up. Don't think anybody will be "happy" if we lose Super League status but there's no point crying our eyes out. Wakefield achieved Super League status fair and square but look likely to lose it by underhand means. At least we can say goodbye with some integrity and moral high ground.

With Murdoch's empire crumbling around him maybe now is a good time to get out of Super League. In addition, with Fat Nige and crew in charge of Super League maybe it's only a matter of time before the current model goes belly up.

Here's to watching Trinity in 2012, wherever it might be.

this is true, but the essence of sport must surely be the desire to play and compete at the highest level. the way the championship is structured financially means that clubs cannot realistically compete with full time squads or hang onto juniors that look like making the grade (or even becoming sl squad players).



i’ve always been staunchly anti franchising, anti murdoch, and pro organic expansion. the current model delivers nails for championship sides’ coffins as they wither towards a slow and painful illness and potential death.



i'll watch wakefield as much next year as i have this. this won't be the majority stance, much as we may kid ourselves, those posting on here are the exception and not the rule.



i think cas will be safe. good luck to them i say. they've fought their public relations battle very well.

although the performance hasn't always been there apart from the last couple of weeks, there has a been a strange feel good factor that hasn't been here for a while

I have been a rugby league fan all my life but only a wakey fan for five of them, i am going nowhere we all know what the RFL is like so let them get on with it. Sky sports will be finished with me too because i think they are part of it.

Well said i watch the championship and it is very competative.

If your a real fan you will stick with the club. It would be nice to play fev on boxing day instead of the whinoes.

Back in darkest January it was said by many "if we go into administration and into the championship so be it ",well it may happen but no means sure to do . But I shall be there because this is MY TEAM ,and have the thick end of fifty years of my life tied up with this club,it is easier to give up heroin than trinity.So I will be there shouting on my team and will not let the B*st***s grind me down.

I agree with you totally, you have summed up this season brilliantly. What I don't understand is every fan can see what's happening why cant the powers that be see it, we needed to finish the season with some pride by at least competing even if we lose just to be able to say we lost but we gave it our best..Hard times but ill still be cheering them on choose what.

The Championship, by whatever name it was then, is where Trinity were when I first started following.

SL has been a very mixed affair for us all. Semi CC, Semi play off (robbed), many great victories, and many heavy hearted defeats. Many flirtations with relegation, but never finishing in a relegation spot.



If, as it would seem will happen, we find ourself in the next tier down, then so be it.

It is a very unfair world we live in, and not just in RL, or sport in general.



Over the last few seasons, going to games at Batley, Dewsbury, Hunslet, Barrow, Fev, etc, (not just games involving Trin) and watching our Academy sides,

has given me a realisation that RL life outside of SL is very attractive.



If we go down, it is the staff, players and others at the club who have done their utmost to present a case for continued SL participation I will feel for.

Tomorrow's decision will not affect my job, and I will be able to watch Trinity next season wherever they play.



I will sleep OK tonight, and if by some quirk we remain in SL, I will be so pleased for those that made it so.

If , as I expect, we go down, then I will not hold it against any other club or it's fans.



As a club we have had long enough, unfortunately our new owners have not.



As a footnote, am I right in saying the night we beat Cas to stay up we had 2 players in the 17 who qualified for GB

Funny I got told that yesterday from one of the games top CE's who also said the RFL could not organize a.... etc etc. Lewis was also said to have surrounded himself with his own cronies and was likened to Blatter and Co in FIFA.

The games run by a guy who prefers Tennis to RL and a company called SKY and unfortunately we don't fit with either.

I will stand by the club, but not the RFL. Have no respect for them whatsoever.

Will still go to games in NL1 and buy my season ticket, merchandise etc. Will miss the trip to France/Cardiff but on the other hand will save a lot of money from not going to these. Son-in-law is a Cas fan (steadygetyerbootson) and said he enjoyed their time in the Championship more than SL although I doubt he will be thinking like this today!



My thoughts also are with the people employed by the club whose jobs may be under threat, it will be a great shame if the hard working people in the community department etc lose jobs. Am I right in thinking that some of this is funded by grants so hopefully some things will be able to continue as they are now.

I've not been able to get to many Wakey games over the last three years due to my location (but have been enjoying conference rugby and Sky games - to hell with it, I enjoy watching RL at any level). But Wakey are and will always be my club and it doesn't matter which league they're in.



I think the franchise decision system is a farce but Wakefield as a club have only started to play the right tunes since new ownership. Even then what AG has been able/willing to do is severely limited by the axe over the club's head (in terms of investing in ground development and players, certainly). Sadly, AG has inherited an ill legacy and his best efforts can't erase that from history... it's a pity, as if we had the time in SL to get into Newmarket, invest in our squad and develop our juniors, we could become an excellent SL club. But I seriously can't see past us going down tomorrow.



Instead, I think we're looking at becoming an excellent Championship club. I do fear the "closed shop"... I'm not so sure it will be so easy to get back in at all. But never mind, we can worry about that later. There is some great rugby played in the Championship, and some fantastic clubs to visit with loyal and knowledgeable fans. A great rugby league family.

In answer to the OP, of course we all will, we have been in this too long and it means too much, we are the best bloody bunch of fans to spend game time with, largely because we dont walk away.



For me it will be the same bunch of nodding acnowledgments next year, people you dont know but you know they share your hope belief and passion for this club.



Tomorrow we start again, wherever that start may be, but this time we have to be realistic, otherwise what we love will be no more.

Ill be staying - quite looking forward to the championship and a trip to Blackpool for the rail cup

then wel be back in the big time and moving forward in SL in 3 years time
