| Can I be the first to offer my very best wishes to JK for the Cas interview? I hope it goes well.
'Classy Cas', with a group of supporters desperately clinging on to an outdated moniker alluding to free-flowing, expressive rugby and a coach who's technical expertise extends no further than 5 drives and a kick and 'having a right good dig.' It's a match made in heaven!

| there a lot of you backing for him looking after his own interests but how many on here have let there own employer know there intentions to look for work publicly,
my last job I handed my notice in before a very important job was to be done it could of caused his company to be in big trouble but I told him I would stay for the build and will return for the rip out, in which I did and got praise and respect from him

| I personally feel as a coach you are in a very privileged position you are basically the public leader and custodian of a club that to many is more than just a sports club. Fans deserve more respect at such a difficult time for this person in a very colloquial sport to turn round and say whilst still leading a team publicly that they are interested a job at there most bitter local rivals who it seems will be getting a place in the league at the expense of his current club.
Of course he is entitled to look for other opportunities and who can blame him, but going public with this is a bit like kicking a man when he is down.
The timing of the announcement makes it all the worse. He clearly has friends at the RFL and carries a bit of influence in the media, this is just more negative PR for the club.
Really poor in my opinion.

Cant agree, I personally would rather have Cullen ahead of Noble, awful coach (not saying Cullen is a great coach by the way).
Cullen for me made 1 basic massive error in his time at Wire and it cost him his career. He is very analytical in his analysis of the game and possesses that inquisitive Australian mentality.
I am nervous about Sean Wane getting his shot next year its a massive risk on Wigan's behalf but he too could hopefully be the start of a young British revival, I have no time for the Bradford drones Noble, McDermott, McNamarra and to a lesser extent Harrison. I actually think the early success of Bradford in SL has set our sport back 5 years in terms of British coaches because of the clamour for the mentality and knowledge from that successful period for them that became very dated very quickly.....especially when you consider very clever players like Edwards and Ford were lost to the code at around the same time.

I can see where coming from with the Bradford era but Noble is a similar stature in the way he can motivate players, his experience of being at that level must count for something and working side by side with a new coach like Tony Durey who knows the lads coming through would be beneficial

A Director of Rugby would be a perfect position for Noble, whilst his on field coaching and tactical ability left much to be desired behind the scenes he did work wonders in stabilising the club at Wigan. The problem with him mentoring a young coach is he could mould him into his ways and his ways are not the way rugby is now never mind in the coming years and technically as can be seen in the transformation of Wigan he has major flaws.
Cullen would be a fool to leave Widnes and his role all the benefits of a coaching position but non of the security risks associated with a coach.
