They used a run of poor results to get rid of Mr Kear, sure it was well rumoured he had "lost the dressing room". JK told the squad the day before he was sacked "that things would be btter soon and they would go on a long run of wins " ....................... he got that right.
JK was paid the same rate he had when he was bombers No2 and even after winning the Challenge cup his pay was not increased. He started to do what he wanted, stopped doing non coaching appearances etc. That upset the powers that be and they got rid of him and he has a gagging order on his leaving handshake as well .
Players who where around at that time will know this to be correct.
s for Rich Agar not being experienced , he has been assistant coach funder two coaches and did lead the etam during that famed run in 2006.'"
agar had zilch experience of head coach at the top level and should never have been appointed. Very poor decision |

Coupe has been an RL fan all his life and played at amateur level. Fulton is a recent convert. Both were shareholders and investors in Gateshead. |

they where part of the Gateshead franchise and they came with merger along with the Etheringtons, Richo et al. They are all quite accomplished business people to be fair and have done a good job in bringing the club upto the level it achieved.
What they need to do now is let go of the reins a bit, let those appointed to manage ..............MANAGE |

Nobby was no2 at Bradford,
John Sharp was no2 under Millward at Saints
you only get experience by doing the job, we need new Brit born Coaches Rich Agar has been one of the best of the bunch thus far. Replacing him with Sharp is not going to improve things because he will have the same problems.
You need the faith to carry it through sometimes, Rich is playing with others peoples players in the main. Coupled with some bad injuries that has not helped the cause and Thorman was never going to be the answer. |

He was caretaker coach for four games. We lost at home to Leeds, beat Wakefield at home and Huddersfield and Catalans away.
Sharp was here for the Wigan game (the one we led 42-0 at half time). It's debatable whether he or Agar was in charge for that game, but after that Sharp certainly was and we won the following nine. |
