Don't know why he was getting so much stick anyway. How can he be considered so poor when he never gets the ball???

| Pre him signing for us i couldn't stand him, however as soon as he's a black and white that changes. He hasn't played badly all year but as usual one player becomes the subject of a witch hunt and i'm afraid this season it's Calders.
People should lay-off the guy and give him some credit were its due.

To an extent you're right, but Tom Briscoe hasn't had a fraction of the crap directed at him that Calderwood has. Given that his defensive lapses have let in far more tries than Calderwood's have, I fail to see why this should be.

Briscoe's a young local lad and Calderwood's an ex-Rhino of course

Maybe people don't know what they are talking about and just jump on the bandwagon that slags off players willy nilly!

I was pleased with it when it was announced and still am. Given the ball he will score tries.

| I never understand why people on here slag off Calderwood, Sing or Blacklock. If they had played outside a top quality centre and being used to there strengths they'd all get 20+ tries a season for us.
People who slag these wingers are just looking for scapegoats.

| Some of the stick he gets in the stands is shocking. Even Yeaman gets some stick, and Tommy Lee still does. These are three of the only players I have seen this season who have never stopped trying whether they have had bad games or not. Why don't the likes of Tickle, R.Horne and Berrigan get stick? These three have offered bugger all and dson't even seem to be trying for at least the past 6 games (Berrigan nothing all season for me, with Tickle only showing up at Celtic. Horne obviously fantastic for the first 4 games).
It's the top players at this club who generally need to be getting stick, along with Thorman plus Agar and his coaching set up. Thorman is doing naff all, he is even worse than what he was during his spell at fullback for Hudds. And the gameplan, motivation, tackling technique etc is awful and something Agar and his coaching set up need to sort out, or go (the latter been my pre-ferred option). Jon Sharp was meant to be improving our defence this season. What a joke yesterdays attempts at tackling were, and we have been very poor and inconsistant in this area in all but two games this season (Wigan and Catalans)

Briscoe is from Featherstone and Calderwood is from Leeds?
Anyhow quite surprised to see this thread as i've felt like the only person thats seen any positives from him.
Someone mentioned earlier play him to his positives. Absolutely spot on.
His enthusiasm really can't be questioned the bloke is all over the park looking for work. Sooner or later we'll twig on to exactly what sort of a pain he can be to opposition teams and use him to his full potential.
The only criticism I have of him is his running from dummy half and even that I guess is a call from the coaches. He's a speed merchant not a power merchant and never going to bust tackles hence his dying with the ball on contact.
