As the RFL do not have any proof i cannot see them being able to do anything. All he has to say is he made it up to make the book more interesting.

It doesn't matter where it's on sale, without supporting evidence Long can just claim to have made it up.



As pointed out elsewhere, the RFL had sight of the manuscript before publication so this will hardly be news to them.

Whether made up or not, it could be seen as bringing the game into disrepute.

Yup. Thing is that's a pretty vague charge with a not too well defined set of penalties, so he'd likely get off a lot lighter than if he was charged with betting again.



And I'm not trying to defend him BTW. I don't mind players with a bit of character, but some of the stuff in his book is just childish and stupid IMO.

If he got a disrepute charge than any RL player ever convicted of an offence would have to be charged with the same!

I reckon nothing will happen, storm in a teacup, the only person who wins is Longy as it's selling him more books.
