Agree it's starting to become a genuine threat. I hear so many people who are becoming disillusioned with the game as a whole because of the officiating, and if that ends up being the reason for any walking away from the game then I don't see how you'd ever get them back.

The whole officiating set up needs a complete root and branch review....yet again. There's been no improvement at all since Cummings and the refs have gone fulltime. The play the ball area is a mess and killing the game as a spectator sport like it did in the NRL a couple of years ago.

It's a real worry. It used to be that your heart would sink when you got certain referees. Now about the only one where my heart doesn't sink is Bentham...and he's crocked!! (Any news on when he may be back by the way?) Thaler, Child, Silverwood, and now Hicks and Roby all seem shockingly inadequate. It comes to something when Ganson comes near the top of your preferences.

The refs are ruining the game at the moment. the standard of officialating (sp) is at an all time low. What with the muppets on Sky and the refs it's driving me for one away from the game. I fed up of games being decided by incorrect refereeing decisions even when they go the the Video offical they still call it wrong. Forward passes are consistently ignored and why you can go to the Video for an offside but not for a forward pass is beyond me. Yes some are unclear so give the benefit to the attacking side but so many a obviously forward it brings the whole game into disrepute.

The solutions is to go to Australia and recruit 6 top referees. Yes they will require a big salary but if we don't do something to improve the situation the game is dead.

And really I dont go to gmes to have a good laugh my love of the game is to important but the Airlie Bird taking the mick out of the numpty ref was the funniest thing I have seen for ages
