| Pleased with these. Pryce makes sense with the young guns coming through in that position and his form this year hasn't been too shabby at all. Sneyd will be a great signing. People wonder if he's a one season wonder but I like the cut of his jib - he looks like he belongs out on the field doing exactly the job of a half and has some good experience behind him already. Hope he agrees terms and gets on board.
Let's face it we haven't attracted our primary candidates but these signings will improve the team dramatically in a key area and hopefully the whole dynamic will change out on the field as a result.

| So its Pryce and Sneyd.
Are they a world class half back pairing? No
Are they the best half back pairing in Super League? No
Are they the best half back pairing we have had for years? Undoubtedly

That's a really good 17 imo, and we've got some depth aswell, with more signings to come. If Radford can't coach them to at least the top 6 then he has to go.'"
I personally think we have a strong squad this season it's the coaching that's bad IMO, I hope the coaching improves next year id hate to think it's mostly the good coaching and support play at cas which is making sneyd look good

| Two very good signings and exactly what we need. Sneyd will add some long term stability and Pryce will be around just long enough to bring the likes of Paula and HTW through.
At the very least we should find out now if its the half backs that make the difference or the coaching and structures in place.

Too early for me to agree with that. Would like to see Lancaster get an extended run though to see how good he really is.
Held his own against Leeds back line which is no mean feat so the kid obviously has something! Played in two walk overs after that. However he has one big thing Tuli doesn't and that is pace. Still, I've been very happy with Tuli this year. He has perform add better than I expected but has a poor try return for a winger.

| A lot of bitterness on the independent Cas Forum about Sneyd coming to Hull. One poster claiming that Pearson had said he wouldn't be spending big money anymore as we would focus on Hull youngsters, then another poster saying we cannot rely on our youngsters as our youth program is crap!
Shaul, Lineham, Lancaster, Crooks, Abdul, Green, Bowden, Cunningham, Hadley, and so on.....

Also a lot of people saying we have paid too much, who cares Pearson has the money and if he thinks its a good investment then why shouldn't he pay a fee. We could have a top halfback for the next 10 years if Sneyd works out well, I rather that than get 2/3 years out of an overseas player.

| Potentially very good recruitment, as on paper it could be exactly what we need. However (there always seems to be a catch these days), this has been true to say of several half back signings in recent years, and there are still factors we're gambling on this time, so I'll wait and see how it pans out before getting excited.
Also, I personally think it's a shame that Miller hasn't worked out for us. I still think he could become a very good player, he just seems to have got lost this year and isn't developing quickly enough for us. A consistent good quality half back partner and better support/runners may have also helped him, as I think Robbo4 makes a very good point:
Quote Robbo4="Robbo4"At the very least we should find out now if its the half backs that make the difference or the coaching and structures in place.'"
I think it's both. If we don't improve significantly with our off the ball efforts then new halves will only improve us so much. It's too easy to point at the players in question and say that a change of personnel will solve nearly all of our woes. We might have brought in a couple of players who make better choices, but we still need to work on providing them with better options from which to choose.
