Arundel shouldn't play IMO - it hasn't been his positioning in defence that's been the problem but simply the ease in which he's been brushed aside. He needs lots of games away from SL to rebuild confidence in his shoulder and his game.

Arundel missed a lot of games last season (only played 4 matches, I think) and as we have the link-up with York I feel that we should take advantage of that and get him more gametime there for him to get more fitness, experience, and confidence.



The guy has talent, I just don't think that we need to throw him straight into games.



The backrow is one of our strongest areas of the squad and so I feel that we can afford to move Whiting to the centre until Crooks is back as we will have a suitable replacement for his spot in the forwards.

id settle for whiting at centre until Jason and Ben crooks are back and play Ben with briscoe and Jason with lineham i think we will see alot more tries for briscoe and lineham with some real speed in the back line its time we stop playing the likes of yeamo on past reputation and shake the team up and concentrate on winning rugby games

I really do despair at some of our 'fans'. I've never seen or heard so many snap judgements. Joe Arundel is not garbage. He is only twenty-one years old and is a good prospect. He needs to develop but he isn't being allowed to do so with our team and the way we're playing. I agree I don't think he should be starting games but he is not garbage.

What happened? OK so maybe we're short handed , maybe the younger players aren't up to it yet but why say things like this and about having depth and having confidence in the kids???? There are no changes here that wouldn't have been made before the Widnes game or are unenforced.

arundel was awful on Saturday. If gentle pitches him in against shenton on Friday then I will seriously question both his judgement and his assertion that he will play players in form

I agree Arundel was awful on Saturday as a lot of our team were. I also agree that he shouldn't be playing on Friday night. But I disagree with people consigning him to the scrapheap after just two games.

A lot of people are just saying he should regain some confidence at York. Not many putting him on the scrapheap I don't think.

You seem to have answered your own question.

If Arundel plays he will be facing Jake Webster, Justin Carney and probably Hauraki inside them. All have been superb this year and, even when we haven't won, have certainly come out on top of every other 2nd row/centre/wing partnerships they have faced.

I knew the answer as you did , the point I was making is why does PG make those sorts of comments when he more than anyone should know he's not going to do it. For the most part the disappointment over the last few years is about actions not matching words. The players availability hasn't changed much since Saturday with the exception of Seymour so why make the statement he made?

I think the big plus even though may get slated is Josh Bowden coming back into the side. In the pre season friendly against castleford i though JB played really well. He got hit hard early but stood back up and played a blinder. Big hits and good runs. Think he could be our answer to a Sam Moa style player, but obvs given time

he is sure to be a quality prop got big size and can shift as well straight replacement in 17 for o'meley at end of year for me

I'd stick with Arundel, he needs games and should not be written off so quickly. Houghton to retain his starting place for me as I like Heremaia from the bench. Galea to keep his place to, thought he was excellent in the first half against Widnes and i'd start Watts at 13.
