To this 'johnny come lately' above, Saints finished top in 2005 but Bradford won the Grand Final, hence the Bulls were Champions.

The last side from Hull to crowned Champions were Hull Kingston Rovers. And they are the only RL side from Hull to have won at Wembley.

We were very poor no question but there was plenty of effort and fight out there. The problem was we simply had too many players injured, too many patched up and then to lose another three during the game killed us.



Fortunately Wigan were not at their imperious best.

What difference does the venue make? We still won the Cup and what a memorable day it was.



The two trophy wins for Rovers you mention were both more than a generation ago. Even Brucie was only in his 50s.
