| Standing areas are being looked at in various grounds across the country. Aston Villa are the premierships leading advocates of this and there is a groundswell of support for them throughout the game. Pete Allen went to a roadshow with regards to standing areas so maybe he could shed some further light on the subject.
The area of the kc Stadium they are looking at making standing is the two sections of the east stand either side of halfway and above the concoure exits. Absolutely ideal in my opinion.
Can you imagine what noise would be generated in that area alone by the new up and coming threepenny standers? BRING it on.

| Quote Goochie="Goochie"At the moment, but Hull City as a club are one of the biggest supporters of safe standing in the country, there have been road shows with the Football Supporters Federation showing the terraces are they are in Germany which also have seats, and there are people high up at the club who want standing to return too.
If the FA change the rules then the KC will have some standing sections.'"
Thought it was to do with the Taylor Report making Football grounds all seater and nothing to do with the FA? And I know people to do with ground safety who'd rather quit than see standing sections at KC

| If you have half the season you think you'll have nex year then friday or sunday is irellevant. Sky will have you on a friday, saturday and from may a monday!
season tickets are a lottery when it comes to putting dates in diaries.

I would LOVE it if those people quit. I don't want people like that associated with my club. It would be the best thing to happen to Hull FC since we won the Challenge Cup in my opinion.

Wigan, Leeds and StS play Fridays. Doesn't stop me getting big gates (home fans) where kids go.'"
It doesn't, I agree, fans generally try to make it whenever the matches are held. fridays don't have any special hold on atmosphere or the amount of fans turning up, certainly not for Hull.
I for one would rather watch my team with some semblence of sunshine/warm weather rather than cold evenings which happen even during the summer months when it's been a cloudless day. Kids get dragged to matches quite often and sit miserable when it's cold and late especially when you have younger ones, at least during a Sunday afternoon you can do stuff all day with them before or after the match.

True. When we switched to Sundays the club said we would probably still have some Friday night home matches due to Sky but we've hardly featured at home on Sky this season.

They're not associated with the club, they work for an entirely different company. As the stadium stands (pardon the pun) at the moment you cannot accomodate standing arrangements at the KC. The stadium has been built for seating 25,000. That means there are x amount of exits, stairwells, lifts and even toilets. You start to put in sections of standing and that area has to be completely re-vamped to accomodate the extra people and I can't imagine the Council or Alam wanting to pay to redesign it.

clearly you've never managed a stadium/sporting event
ingress/egress policy would need to be ripped up and re-written, stewarding costs would increase by 50% (at least), it would require new exits to be built, and exits to be available from pitch level.
so, not going to happen, and thank whichever sky pixie you believe in for that.
I was (hence my username) against the all seater plans, but having managed elements of the CMS/GMEX/ICC and Swimming Complex for the Commonwealth Games in 2002 and spoken to people who have manaaged mixed arrangement stadia, I do not want to see standing return.

Me neither. The KC is fine as it is.
