It's not going to change anything but i've just cancelled my sky. The only reason I ever got it was for the super league games with the hope that maybe we would be playing in that competition, now that's never going to happen why continue paying £50 a month?

While it's not palatable to Widnes fans, I don't see why you'd be in any worse position to apply next time, that's only 2 seasons from now before the decision is made, so 2 seasons to get all the ticks in the other boxes.

That'll be why they are bringing Toulouse into NL1.

Yes - they have said at least one current team will be "relegated" and replaced with a team from NL1 - but if 2 current clubs aren't making the progress then they will both be replaced.



And as for Toulouse - they are only in with a chance if they have a grand final appearance in NL1 between now and 2011 as I believe that is one of the criteria for a club to be "promoted" from 2012

Unlikely. They will probably just expand to 15 clubs, as they have stated they are prepared to do, and then enter Toulouse in 2012.





getting to a NL1 GF will not be a problem for a side that’ll be chock full of Aussies and doesn’t have to worry about a salary cap.

The RFL have offered the French RL the opportunity to have a team in NL1 next year so I think it's a big leap from there to "guaranteed entry into SL"

The criteria for 2009 was supposed to be based on stadium, facilities, youth development, crowds etc yet they still let CC in... You can gaurantee that the rules will be shaped into whatever form so that they can to continue Dicky's expansionist crusade.

Put it this way. IF Touloose enter NL1 and if they get to grand finals then that shows they are good enough for SL and they will join catalan dragons.



If Toulouse struggle in NL1 then they wont get promoted.



As for people saying scrap sky to get yourselves in SL. Thats a sure fire way of ensuring you dont get in SL. Its akin to cutting off your nose to spite your face.



SL has only been expanded because Sky were prepared to pay more money because their viewing figures are good. If Viewing figures deteriorated then the SL would probably shrink down to 12 clubs again which would leave Widnes stranded again.
