Love the way Hull fans go nuts over a new signing, despite probably never having seen the guy play or maybe even never heard of him (I haven't!).

There was interest in O'Meley, but no offer was tabled to his agent.



It's clear for anyone to see that if the over-riding factor/priority of a player is to win silverware, then he wouldn't join your club - simple as.



Next year will be your 3rd consecutive season of missing out of the top-eight.

Anyway as you said Rovers were keen to bring him over but the offer was not made as he had already expressed his desire to join another club, I dont think at the time Rovers knew otherwise they would of offered ten times more than Hull

Don't get me wrong, O'Meley is probably the first FC signing in the last 3 years (other than Berigan) that I wouldn't have been disappointed signing for Rovers but he's not some super-star. Besides, Catalans have some of the best props in the comp in Carlaw, Ryles etc. and they're struggling to get in the 8.



FC will have a better side than they have this season, but it still won't be good enough to get in the 8 - it's only recently that most fans are coming to terms with the fact that the competition has moved on since they were in the GF.

It's a bit daft to make statements like that when most teams haven't even started their recruitment, let alone finished it. You have no idea how the squads are going to match up for 2010 yet.

As someone who has watched O'meley plummet over the last two years I shed no tears we didn't sign him. Off the field he has issues, on it he has just been e! I'd have taken Tronc over him any day of the week.
