Damn right they could and it was the most entertaining rugby i had seen in many years, Lets get Matt back in place of Lee Greenwood and then we can have a attack and defence. Halifax team would be sorted.



I have taken a bit to post after last night and thought i would not be too reactional about the loss, but we are seriously poor and Boring to watch again. NRC Flop, Challenge cup early exit, Playoffs to come and not holding out for much. Putting everything together PISSPOOR season.

Someone else, a Leigh supporter has posted Sam was applauding when Leigh scored.

Very dissapointing if true.

Think he should play, he's a shoe in for getting sent off.

That Cost the club if i remember correctly, Even better, let him play against us, get sent off, cost them the game, and then we get some cash as well. PERFECT !.

He would never get booed, we would welcome him back just like we do all our other ex players.

Although if certain things are correct, it will be a long time before he's back or anywhere.

Sam is a Fax lad through and through. Nobody knows truly why he left and I am certain he would have stayed for the rest of his career has the situation allowed.

Well, Sam couldn't get into this so called "poor" team which must make him "worse than poor"? And (as I've just pointed out on another thread), Calland had to be "relieved" from his duties by Brian Noble which doesn't say much for his own coaching abilities either. As they say, "the proof is in the pudding"!

Tony whilst I agree with what you say, we both know Calland wasn't "relieved" from his duties because of his coaching abilities. "Allegedly"

Much as I like Sam as a bloke & admire his rugby playing when he's fit & on form, I'm not convinced it was very wise posting that message of Facebook. I'd read it myself & texted several mutual friends to see if they'd read it too & what were their opinions. All of this Twitter/Facebook stuff can be very damaging sometimes.

There are obviously issues under-lying, bubbling away.

I find the "Sam can't play against Halifax this season" clause frustrating as a supporter of Halifax RLFC I would have rather he be allowed to pull on a Fev shirt against us if & when that may happen. From what I understand Sam will be a Leyther next season & the year after, I'll wish him all the best playing for them, but I don't have it in me to wish him all the best in a Fev shirt at the moment, we all know the recent rivalry, the only club I didn't want a Halifax player to go to in fact.

Having watched Sam & Josh since they were juniors, I really feel that he should have been playing in SL on his next contract, time will tell & I remember chatting to Josh not that very long ago about his lack of 1st team opportunities at Halifax and offering him my opinion.

Hmm, if he's put those things and applauded Leigh scoring then he's dafter than I thought but he's obviously got issues with the club, or certain people within it, and would be better off keeping quiet and letting his playing do the talking.

Tony, Calland was not relieved from his position due to anything Rugby related, I am sure some people will know why and others will be still in the dark, However, His record speaks for itself, It has been the most exciting time to watch HRLFC in a decade, We won the Grand Finals and were runners up, We smashed teams off the park with some of the most entertaining rugby league in the country, The atmosphere at the ground was fantastic, Some games now there is better atmospheres at Wakes than there is at the shay. Noble was brought in for his defensive work and if i remember correctly, it was to do with off field things like looking at the back room etc and how we could improve on our SL franchise application for the next time round, He was a "consultant".



In my own opinion, Martin Hall and Matt Calland were the best duo ( and lets be honest Martin was still involved even though he threw himself on the sword over the Ostick Challenge cup debacle ) the coaching team had had in years. They recruited the right players and what a team it was.



on a side note, what is Martin Hall up to now does anyone know, is he still in the RL circle ?.
