I have never found anything friendly in Widnes.They have always been the most unpleasant scowling bunch in the game

Never had any problems at that pub on the corner. Shame they've got rid of the circular pool table. It was in interesting curio.



The only thing wrong with the place was that they seemed to ignore you in favour of the locals.

Widnes is a lovely place, full of hospitable welcoming people. Much like their pack in the late 80's / early 90's.

I'd go as far to say that the welcome recieved @ Widnes in the past was almost as enjoyable as that experienced at the Boulevard.

If it really was Widnes station that Paul Simon composed that song HOMEWARD BOUND ,I can see why he was inspired there

A group of us had the pleasure of changing ends at kick off once, the abuse we received was hilarious. We were warned at the corner not to walk through the "mad end", we did anyway, I think the locals loved it really.

Interesting!!!!, if the comparison to the Boulevard is anything to go by then I'm not expecting to be welcomed with open arms lol!

Sounds like it could be an eye opener then, only the Boulevard and craven park have I been met with bad attitudes, maybe this will make it 3!

What about The Crown and The Horse & Jockey between station and ground???

Just across the main car park (by the South Stand) there is a bowling club. We've always been made welcome in there, the beer is cheap and it's a minute walk to the away end (West Stand)
