In all fairness transfer fees have gone out of the window within the game. Fielden for 400k was the last real hoorah. These fees these days to championship clubs are more a friendly game or send us your business rate demand for the financial year. That culture change is part of the reason for the demise of Oldham, they used to make a fortune on transfer fees going back to the eighties.
