the RFL confirm new systems were in place and suggest

in future clubs could face expulsion.

As we are not a Super League club i fully expect the wrath of God to come crashing down heavily. A massive fine, expulsion and a five year ban.

I'm not sure which would be worse, if they did it on purpose then they have attempted to cheat, but if they did it without realising then thats just embarassing!

just plead stupidity like hull did and you'll get away with cheating as well

I suppose this begs the question, how many amateur teams get away with it every year? A player playing for both a summer team and winter team could in theory be cup tied and compete for two different teams.



I suppose realistically the answer is very few, but is it worth thinking about?

Surely the RFL has some system in place to prevent this happening. I mean I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be hard to set up a spreadsheet or database into which you enter the named squads, that would flag up potential improprieties?

Or the player himself saying "hang on boss, I've already played in the cup for Rochdale"





Anyway - spreadsheets and databases? This is the RFL - Pitman & Rolodex.
