Lazy buggers spoiling it for people that need it? or is a cut needed for people to go back to work,

What work?

Bit of a daft question.



I've been employed none stop since 18 years old (before that I worked in the likes of McDonalds part time...) so If I become unemployed I feel I should have a safety net. On the flip side, of course there are people who abuse the system and take advantage.



What does worry me is that this is the kind of talk the Tories love to hear, labelling people as scroungers takes the focus off why people are unemployed etc.



Iain Duncan Smith's "get on a bus" comments made me wretch.

Problem with most of the long-term unemployed is they are unemployable, they have no skills and are basically delinquents who will make a company less productive rather than more productive because they just need constant supervision to make sure they haven't got their hands in the till.



You generally find that the people who complain that the work shy dossers should be starved into jobs, are the same type of people who tell you about how hard they work in the private sector and how public sector workers wouldn't last five minutes if they had to work in a competitive cuthroat business environment like them. They would never in a million years hire the work shy dossers to work in their firms, yet they seem to think that the private sector is awaiting them with open arms if only they had the motivation of no benefits, to accept the jobs on offer...

yep few of me mates on jsa and i admit that people do abuse and don't actually look for work and just want £100 every two weeks, but there are people out there who are unemplaoyed as there ain't no jobs out their and need that money for food/rent etc. so it should really put more pressure on people on their to show that they are actually looking for work and not just scrounging of the government

Thats probably a pretty apt statement. The problem with the welfare state is that it actively encourages teenage girls who dont do well at school to get pregnant. They can have 3 kids by age 20 with child allowance, Dole, housing benefits etc etc they can be on a tidy sum whilst living rent free and wearing the latest designer gear. Now i hate this government with a passion and would love nothing more than to knock 7 bells out of Osbourne, but the welfare system does need reshaping to discourage the attitude of some people who leave school with no intention of working. Unfortunatly Osbourne hasnt done this, all he has done is cripple the low income families and kick the rest of us in the bolloks for good measure. Disabled people have actually taken a hell of a kicking from a govt that is finally showing all the naive fools who voted for them their true colours. I have an autistic son who also has complex learning difficulties and am wondering now what the future holds for him.

Maybe the banks can help by giving us workers some of our money back instead of blaming everything on our fellow working class people.

Strange topic to have on this forum. WOnder if it will end up descending into a glorified MSN chat like all the others have.
